There are certain words that are produced incorrectly by many people….and there are some words that people say that are not words-maybe they make them up I am not sure. I often want to correct them when I hear the made-up word said ….but feel rude…so I hope this list helps….
FRUSTRATED-There are two Rs in this word, not one!! It is NOT FUSTRATED…I can not tell you how many professional people-teachers especially-that say FUSTRATED.
ASK-It is ask…..not aks….I am not even sure how somebody can say it that way….it’s hard to do.
BREAKFAST-There is a K in this word…..it is NOT BREAFAST…..it is BREAKFAST.
SUPPOSEDLY-I have heard the following: SUPPOSEBLY AND SUPPOSEVLY
REGARDLESS-IRREGARDLESS is NOT a word. It is regardless.
OUR–When you say a sentence like: “This is our home.”……remember it is OUR not ARE.
LIBRARY– It is NOT liberry
VALENTINE’S DAY-Not Valentime’s Day!
FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES- It is not: “for all intensive purposes”….thank you to my friends Ken and Melis…..and I did a little research on this one…and it says that people who say…”for all intensive purposes”…..are said by…. “people who do not read much.”……and this is also what I found as I did some research regarding this statement: “You should have paid attention in English class!” So funny…..thanks for helping me find another Say it Right!
