Are you Down with Donating?

Prior to Christmas…my friends and family all were part of an incredible event….and the circle of people donating widened…to unknown friends and families all across the world.  It was such and incredible event…You can read about the Magic of Christmas…and how we changed one little families Christmas Day…by scrolling down on my blog to read the entire story and chain of events.

This one event really inspired me to do more…to help more and to give more.  On my blog…I have a donation button….I would like to start giving 50% of the profit I make on my site to a specific Down Syndrome organization.  This is where I will need your help friends and families….not sure which organization would benefit most….I would love for some suggestions…advice and your thoughts.  I will of course keep track on my blog  to monitor the progress I make and the amount that I am able to donate.  Just want the money to go to the organization that would make the most change…spreading awareness regarding Down Syndrome..and giving support and help to those in need (and if anyone knows of a plugin/widget that I can put on my blog as a donation thermometer-please let me know…I was trying to find one and was not having any success).

My ultimate goal is to eventually be able to give my time for free out in the community and anywhere I would be able to travel.  Offering families the guidance and support they need when it comes to speech and language development…strategies…coming up with a therapy plan…oral motor feeding…and my passion..helping little ones or big ones with Down Syndrome.

Please share this with your friends and families.

About Kim

My name is Kim Marino and I have been practicing as a licensed speech and language pathologist since 1993. I work on Long Island providing diagnostic evaluations and services to children from birth to age 21. My experience is vast and am proud to say that I work with children that may present with articulation and phonological concerns, oral motor feeding concerns, Down Syndrome feeding, cognitive rehabilitation, auditory processing delays, receptive language delays, cleft palate feeding and sound development and expressive language delays. Most importantly, I am the mother of four amazing children and am happily married to my childhood sweetheart. I feel blessed to have my four children and so lucky to share this journey in life with my husband. I always had it somewhere in my head that I wanted to develop a blog or a website of some sort so that I could provide families with an additional resource....so that parents could help their little ones become a better communicator. And as I was developing this blog....I realized that I also needed to share the stories about my life and my children....and the funny things along the way that help to keep me smiling. Whether you are a working mother or not...finding balance between home, children and life can be a challenge....I hope that my blog helps to bring a smile to your face..and also some tools to help you help your little or big one. I hope you enjoy! Kim
