This is just a quick post tonight…but wanted to post about another favorite puzzle I use with the little ones who I am seeing for therapy…and of course the above puzzle is from Melissa and Doug. I love all of their products…and find them very helpful in getting a little one’s attention during the therapy session…maintaining their attention…and in really enjoying the activity.
When working on expressive language development…I find working on the animal sounds is a great place to start…many of the sounds are easy to produce…for example Mooo…is very easy to try to elicit…especially because M is a bilabial sound (made with your two lips)…and during production your little one can feel the vibration on your lips..this tactile information is very helpful because it provides additional information…so your little one not only hears the sound…she can feel it too! Great!
I plan to post more about Melissa and Doug products…there are so many of them…and I find all of them very helpful during therapy.
